Hello Friends !
This is the last time, I will write here. That's because I consider this project finished. I hope,
I did a good job and you liked it.
But don't worry, this web site will stay online. I only removed some things (guestbook, counter).
And I also made the menu much simpler. Before removing the counter, it showed 8481 visitors.
In addition to that, I moved the pages back to UiB for web hosting. UiB is much faster!
And please have a look at the video section. There is one new video which was made by Martin. It
is really a must-see, so get it here.

Well, first of all, I will say welcome to all visitors of my web page. Then I want to say a big welcome to all new foreign students who just arrived. And last but not least, we all miss the students from last semester.
What you find here: These pages are documenting my stay in Bergen 1999/2000. They are dedicated to all foreign students currently in Bergen. The purpose is to have the possibility to show pictures to friends, relatives etc. at home. But that's not all. See at the menu on the left.

Now I feel like an author, writing the preamble to a second edition book. But that's not quite right, because there have been a lot of changes on this homepage in the past. Some of them have been more and more photos in the galleries and some of them affected the design, look and feel. But now, since I have returned to Germany and many others have returned to their homes, my mission is completed. Now there will be a second stage. That means two things: First of all, you shall scan all your photos and send them to me via email or by ordinary mail on a floppy disk, so that I can place them in the web. Second, as many of you have to write reports for your home universities, you should send a copy to me. Please send it via mail in both languages (your mouther tounge and english). Perhaps you also want to translate it into norwegian, that's fine.
And now I want to thank some persons without whom this web presence would have been impossible or different. First, there is Walter for developing and scanning the first pictures and Stephen for sending them to me. This was the first impulse which made me make this homepage. Then I have to say "muchas gracias cariņo" to Elena for giving support and advice when I could not choose between two different designs. Also thanks to Juan-Diego for coming to eat with us and making jokes. And for the good wine from Catagena (Spain). Then to Victoria for beeing my neighbour and for the catering. Well, to be correct, the catering division was driven by Victoria and me. And I also want to thank the University of Bergen(UiB), which was hosting my pages in 1999/2000 and even more thanks to Mr. Hans Morten Kind for being a friendly root and not being angry about me when one of my programs slowed the university server down due to a malfunction. And of course thanks to everybody else for visiting etc...
In the time from the 26th of November 1999 to the 03rd of June 2000 there have been 2584 visitors on my page. From the 3rd of June on the hits are counted. That means a click by a visitor. If a visitor clicks on 5 pages than that would be 5 hits. This had to be changed, because I am not able to use the counter of UiB any more. Whatever, it counts something.
I hope you return to this place from time to time and look at the nice webcam-pictures of Bergen.
